Waterproofing your shower and tub surround

Sheetrock won't do it. Greenboard or cement floating walls won't do it either. Even cementatious board like hardibacker or wonderboard will not repel moisture.

The best way to protect your shower is to keep moisture from getting to the wallboard, period.  All these products hold moisture which will eventually produce mold and mildew.
